Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases

Contribute to the reduction of non-communicable diseases and its risk factors among the border population through a holistic approach by seeking interdisciplinary cross-institutional collaboration and participation of traditional and non-traditional partners at the local, state and federal levels. The Office coordinates a community intervention project along the border that will contribute to the prevention of Type 2 Diabetes among the population over 18 years old, based on a model that includes community health workers. Furthermore, there will be initiatives in the areas of control and prevention of childhood obesity and promotion of physical activity following the Regional Non communicable Disease Prevention and Control Strategies.
