January 31, 2013 -  PAHO’s  Country Program Specialist for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Ms. Anneke Wilson  along with the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment staff, which included, the Permanent Secretary  Mr. Luis de Shong  , Heads of Department, the  representative from OAS – Mrs Melene Glynn,   media,  as well as the agency for Public Information  gathered at the Ministry  of Health and Wellness conference room to  view  the inauguration ceremony of the New Director of the Pan American Health Organization and WHO Regional Director Dr Carissa Etienne, which was streamed
live from Washington DC.

The activity was organized by the Ms. Wilson who prepared a program to introduce the audience to the activity. The activity was chaired by the Health Planner; Permanent Secretary Mr Luis de Shong welcomed all present to the ceremony and Ms Wilson gave an overview of the New Director’s Bibliography. This was followed by a viewing of the director’s online picture album.  After the ceremony pictures of the Administrative transfer which was convened the day before was shared and light refreshments followed.

It was a very impressive ceremony all present enjoyed the program and was satisfied with the level of participation by Ministry Staff.  It was a very successful event.
