Annually since 1995, the Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Relief Area of the Pan American Health Organization, has brought together counterparts in disaster preparedness, mitigation and response from Ministries of Health in the Caribbean, in the Health Disaster Coordinators’ (HDC) meetings. These meetings provide a forum for consultation and priorities setting, and also:
allow countries to share experiences
contribute to the strengthening of national and regional capacity in emergency preparedness and disaster relief
