Country seeks to protect 1.2 million women of childbearing age and more than 240,000 babies born each year

On hand for the launch were representatives of Haiti’s Ministry of Public Health and Population, the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), UNICEF, the GAVI Alliance, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Continue reading »

Millennium Water Association joins coalition for water and sanitation to eliminate cholera from Haiti

Washington, D.C., 5 March 2013 (PAHO/WHO) — The Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) will provide $500,000 from its technical cooperation resources to finance the installation of water and sanitation connections in primary healthcare centers in Haiti, under Haiti’s new National Plan for the Elimination of Cholera 2013-2022.
