The convening of the 6th CARPHA Steering Committee in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, was the main activity for the period since the publication of the last Bulletin. PAHO consultation 7 May: a number of CARICOM Health Ministers were joined by other stakeholders in PAHO’s consultation on its subregional co-operation strategy (SCS). The Subregional Strategy will define the strategic technical areas that PAHO will support in the medium term 2010 – 2015 and will facilitate PAHO’s work to respond better to Caribbean sub-regional frameworks and initiatives including CARPHA.
Since the release of the last Bulletin, there have been various activities related to the establishment of CARPHA. A social marketing strategy has been prepared; a partner engagement plan has been developed; the 5th CARPHA Steering Committee meeting was held and there was a presentation on CARPHA at the Caucus of CARICOM Health Ministers.
