VIROLOGIST
(This
post is of limited duration and a contract will be issued for a maximum period
of six (6) months)
The
incumbent will provide expert technical guidance for the efficient management
of the virology laboratory in support of the Centre’s surveillance
programme. He/she will also be
responsible for the development and implementation of a strategic plan for the
CAREC virology department in alignment with the Centre’s priorities
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- An MD, PhD or Master’s degree from a recognized
university in a laboratory-based health science and specialized training
in virology. A Master’s degree in
Public Health will be an asset.
- Five years of practical experience at national
and international level in activities related to the laboratory-based
evidence surveillance of transmissible diseases caused by Virological
agents. Experience in a
microbiology laboratory with focus on Virology.
