MEDICAL
MICROBIOLOGIST
(This
post is of limited duration and a contract will be issued for a maximum period
of six (6) months)
The incumbent will provide expert
technical guidance for the efficient management of the microbiology laboratory
with emphasis on bacteriology and parasitology. He/she will also be responsible for the development and implementation
of a strategic plan for the CAREC microbiology department in alignment with the
Centre’s priorities.
REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS
- A
Master’s degree from a recognized university in a laboratory-based health
science and specialized training in microbiology including molecular
methods. A Master’s degree in Public
Health will be an asset.
- Five
years of practical experience at national and international level in activities
related to the laboratory-based evidence surveillance of transmissible diseases
caused by infectious agents. Experience
in a microbiology laboratory with focus on bacteriology.
