HIV/AIDS data for CAREC Member Countries

1982 - 2010

CAREC Member Countries (CMCs) currently submit annual HIV and AIDS data to CAREC. AIDS has been a reportable disease for CMCs since 1982. HIV became a reportable disease in 2006; however, some countries have reported HIV data prior to 2006 (however initial reporting did not require that data be reported by age-group and gender).

The data presented here include new HIV and AIDS cases, by year of diagnosis, for each CMC and regionally for the period 1982 - 2010, where available. Data presented are as at October 2011. The number of annual deaths resulting from AIDS (AIDS deaths) is also included. Additionally, the data are presented by age group and gender, as available.

Reporting logs have also been included. Please use these logs as a guide to determine the availability and completeness of the data provided.

Thank you for your interest in these data. Should you have any questions please contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
