Workshop on the human rights of people with mental illness in the Dominican Republic

The Dominican Mental Health National Program held a workshop on December 3, 2009 directed to the residents of Padre Billini Psychiatric Hospital addressing the basic rights and fundamental freedoms of people with mental illnesses. The Inter-American Resolutions and Declarations and the Law 12-06 on Mental Health of the Dominican Republic were analyzed during the workshop, which was coordinated by Cristabel Sosa from the Mental Health National Program. Thirteen residents from the hospital worked on case studies during a practical activity.
