16 July 2009: Country Office Update on the Influenza A (H1N1) situation.

• The Ministry of Health confirmed 7 new cases of influenza A (H1N1). The total confirmed cases to date are 22.
  
• Four (4) cases are from the Corozal District; 2 cases in Belmopan City; 1 case in Belize City.
  
• So far indications are that the 3 cases not from the Corozal District are unrelated to the first cluster in the Corozal border area.
  

The Ministry Response Team (MRT) is providing technical support to the health regions and is satisfied with the response up to date. The PAHO Country Office is working closely with the MRT and is being kept abreast of all developments.
