El Salvador’s Minister of Health María Isabel Rodríguez tells about her experience at the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) and her participation in the first study on medical education in Latin America and the building of medical libraries.
She also recounts her experience working for PAHO/WHO in Mexico, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic and finally Washington, where she helped design international health programs to train experts. “All organizations should fulfill a training function,” says Rodríguez, who also affirms that education and health cannot be separated since they are mutually dependent.
