Cristina Mitchell and Paulo Leite, PAHO/HQ web team members, participated in a four-day training course in WHO/HQ. This course covered best practices on web page design, tips on how to improve the ranking and visibility of WHO/HQ and regional sites. Emphasis was placed on ensuring WHO sites are accessible to all segment of the population. In addition to that, effective techniques on web writing, accessibility issues, as well as search engine optimization topics were reviewed. The fifth day was dedicated to discuss the Global Web Policy draft and also to share the state of the web in the different regions. Different ways to share content among the various sites and increase collaboration among the regional web teams were explored.
