Country Representatives participate in a Regional Consultation on prevention and control strategy of noncommunicable diseases

A regional consultation on the Strategy for the Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases and the process to develop a regional action plan together, this August 9, representatives of the countries of the Americas and experts at the headquarters of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) in Washington, DC The session was retrasnmitida via BlackBoard Colaborate for participants who were unable to attend in person at PAHO headquarters in Washington ….

This meeting completes a consultation process started weeks ago, during which more than 50 participants from all countries of the region, meeting subregional working groups, provided comments about the Regional Strategy for the Prevention and Control of Disease Noncommunicable.

This document will be presented to the Pan American Sanitary Conference, which meets in September this year, the guidelines cover the region will continue to face the burden of noncommunicable diseases. Cancer, diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular diseases and chronic respiratory diseases are among the group of non-communicable diseases
