Health Sector Reform Calls for Unity and the Exchange of Experiences between Countries, Says Salvadorian Health Minister

In congratulating PAHO Director Dr. Mirta Roses for the publication of her Annual Report, the Minister of Health of El Salvador, Dr. María Isabel Rodríguez, noted that “both intersectoral solidarity within countries and regional solidarity among countries are needed.”

“Health sector reform is only possible through unity within each country, but the process can be greatly enriched through the sharing of experiences from other countries,” she said, thanking Cuba and Spain in particular for their support to El Salvador.

“Sharing experiences will take us a long way toward achieving the Millennium Development Goals,” Dr. Rodríguez concluded.
