The Caribbean Community Chair, Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas, recognized PAHO as a partner and discussed the meeting agenda, highlighting the need to discuss social marketing to develop public health programs, Non-communicable diseases and the incorporation of violence. Dr. Llewllyn made clear that even when violence is a security problem it has to be treated as a public health problem and that he was happy that it was on the table for discussion in the meeting.
