The Commonwealth of the Bahamas is located off the southeast coast of Florida, United States of America, and northeast of Cuba. It consists of approximately 700 islands and cays with a land mass of 13,940 km2. Tourism, followed by international banking and investment management, constitute the industries of most importance to the national economy.
