The objectives of this mission were:

• To provide an overview of the technical units in the Area of Technology & Health Services Delivery and identify potential avenues for support to The Bahamas; 

•  To initiate relevant discussions in relation to the creation of a regulatory framework for the Drugs, Pharmaceuticals and Pharmaceutical Management Systems; 

•  To outline the next steps in relation to continuation of our technical cooperation activities as regards the Drugs, Pharmaceuticals and Pharmaceutical Management Systems.

The first item on Dr. Di Fabio's agenda was a courtesy call on the Ministry of Health officials.  Accompanied by PAHO/WHO Representative, Dr. Merle J. Lewis, he met with Hon. Dr. Hubert A. Minnis, Minister of Health; Mr. Creswell Sturrup, Acting Permanent Secretary; Dr. Merceline Dahl-Regis, Chief Medical Officer; Dr. Merle J. Lewis.  His schedule included meetings with The Public Hospitals Authority Managers, The Chief Medical Officer and her team, The Bahamas National Drug Agency Managers and Mental and Dental health professionals.
